Preamble
The role of Ph.D. committees is to provide frequent feedback and advice to the Ph.D. candidate. The committee shares the responsibility of guiding the student's research to successful completion. Students should not view the committee as obstacles, but rather as additional mentors and possible promoters of their thesis research. When applying for jobs, committee members are often the first choice for seeking recommendation letters. It is expected that the Ph.D. advisor work closely with the student in determining the most appropriate committee members. The introduction shall provide an overview of the PhD, outline the common research topics, theories, and methods of the articles, and relate it to the broader literature and research field.
- Develop the research infrastructure and capabilities of the College. This will require dedicating a certain amount of soft and hard infrastructure towards creating a research atmosphere in the College.
- Promote and encourage research in certain thematic areas identified by the College. The research will be conducted either by the College faculty or visiting scholars and fellows. This will require developing a medium- and long-term research agenda and strategy.
- Provide an ethical framework and quality control mechanism for the research work carried out in the College. This will require the development of a Research Council/Committee to approve and provide funding for research internally and an Institutional Research Cell to provide certification of Ethics for research conducted in the College.
- A doctoral program consists of a combination of courses, seminars, individual study, and research/scholarship that meets the minimum requirements of Graduate Council.
- The primary responsibility of the Ph.D. Committee is to guide the broad scholarly development of the Ph.D. student, including direct responsibility for guidance and assessment of the student’s dissertation research and academic progress toward the Ph.D. degree.

The applicant shall have secured 55% or more marks in masters or its equivalent CGPA grade for general category and 5% less for reserve category.
DMIHER (DU) is offering 25 stipendiary posts of Junior Research Fellows (JRF) to the selected Doctoral Scholars enrolled under the Doctoral Degree Programme, across all faculties namely Medicine, Dentistry, Ayurveda, Physiotherapy, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Interdisciplinary Sciences, Allied Health Sciences, Commerce & Management & Faculty of Engineering and Technology.
