Datta Meghe Institute of Higher Education & Research (Deemed to be University), Wardha, was granted the status of a Deemed to be University, by the University Grants Commission on 24th May 2005, Under Section 3 of UGC Act 1956.

The institute aims to emerge as a global centre of excellence in higher education by encompassing a quality-centric, innovative and interdisciplinary approach and refutative research. DMIHER has a sprawling 125-acre campus in Sawangi (Meghe), about 80 kms from Nagpur, Maharashtra.
